ELFYN LEWIS

born in porthmadog, north wales, elfyn lewis’ distinctive abstract paintings are held in a number of public + private collections. his work has been widely exhibited throughout the uk + worldwide. in 2009 lewis was awarded the gold medal for fine art at the national eisteddfod of wales + later went on to be named welsh artist of the year in 2010. his love of place is a clear strand throughout his work which are, as he describes, ‘layered time after time until the upper layer explodes and transforms from its volcanic creation into a vivid landscape’
