  • Mae TEN yn falch o gyflwyno ‘Glyph, arddangosfa o waith newydd gan yr artist Molly Goldwater.

Dyma 4ydd sioe Goldwater yn TEN, ac mae’n cynnwys ei gwaith celf beiddgar a llachar nodweddiadol. Mae Goldwater yn defnyddio technegau printio fel modd o greu ac - fel yr awgryma'r teitl - yn offeryn i gyflawni’r weithred bwrpasol o wneud marciau. Mae inciau bron-yn-neon pinc, melyn a gwyrdd wedi'u hargraffu â sgrin - yn wastad a llyfn - yn gefndir i siapiau o ddu dwfn wedi'u pentyrru a'u grwpio. Disgrifia Goldwater ei dull fel cymysgedd o gymwysiadau sy'n ymhelaethu ar y cyflymderau amrywiol sy'n gysylltiedig â gwneud ei gwaith; rhai gweithredoedd yn araf, trefnus a myfyriol, eraill yn gyflym ac yn fyrbwyll. O’r herwydd, mae'r gwaith yn pwysleisio'r gwahanol rinweddau a geir trwy gymysgu prosesau a dulliau gwneud printiau a’r drafftio â llaw. Mae cyfosod yr elfennau hyn yn allweddol i’w chelf - ei phaentiadau, ei hysgythriadau â’i phrintio sgrin.

TEN is pleased to present ‘Glyph’, a solo exhibition of new work by painter and printmaker, Molly Goldwater.

This is Goldwater’s 4th show at TEN, and features her characteristic bold and brilliant artwork. Goldwater utilises printmaking techniques as means of application and - as the title suggests - tools for the purposeful action of mark-making. Nearly-neon pink, yellow and green screen-printed inks - flat and smooth - serve as backdrop to stacked and grouped deep black shapes. Goldwater describes her practice as a mixture of applications which amplify the varying speeds involved in the making of her work; some actions slow, methodical and meditated, others fast and impulsive. The resulting work accentuate the different qualities achieved through mixing printmaking and draughtsmanship processes. The juxtaposing of these elements are key to Goldwater’s work - her paintings, etchings and single-edition screenprints.
